About this speaker
Laaser, 45, boasts 25 years of experience in sports broadcasting, marketing, event execution and corporate partnerships. His lengthy list of roles includes time as the lead broadcaster for seven affiliated minor league baseball franchises, Virginia Commonwealth University, Charleston Southern University and Virginia Tech. Prior to co-founding Performance Pickleball, Jon served as the "Voice of the Virginia Tech Hokies" for seven years, providing play-by-play for football and men's basketball while also managing the Virginia Tech Sports Network and its 48 affiliate stations. He has also lent his talents to the ACC Network, Hampton Roads Sports Network, MASN, Comcast Sports Net and NBC Sports Washington.
In 2022, along with his wife Renée, Laaser launched Laaser's Ladybug Society, a 501c3 specializing in raising funds and awareness for mental health initiatives in public schools. Through that effort, the Ladybug Pickleball Classic and the BodyArmor 804 Open were created, rapidly becoming two of the most successful pickleball tournaments in the Mid-Atlantic region. Marrying that philanthropic effort to the explosion in pickleball's popularity led to the creation of Performance Pickleball, LLC, a year later.
A native of Minneapolis, MN, Laaser resides in Richmond, VA, with his wife and one-year old pug Steve.
